Maserati will be launching the Maserati GranCabrio at Frankfurt
It’s taken Maserati a year or three to cobble together the Convertible GranTurismo, but they’ve finally got there and the new car is Christened – The Maserati GranCabrio – and will launch at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month. Unlike its cousin the Ferrari California, the GranCabrio gets a folding rag-top instead of a tin-top, which should help keep the inevitable weight gains for a cabrio in check. But it’s still not going to be light at pushing on two tonnes.
THE SPANISH town of Ronda has named a street after the creator of car racing phenomenon Gran Turismo. Kazunori Yamauchi, the man behind all six Gran Turismo games and their respective PlayStation spin-offs, was honoured in an on-street ceremony by the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Ronda, where the new street sign was unveiled. Paseo de Kazunori Yamauchi runs along the edge of the stunning ravine that makes Ronda a popular tourist destination.
BMW's celebration of the 75th anniversary of the BMW 328 continued Friday at the Legends of the Autobahn car show in Carmel, Calif., with the North American debut of the BMW 328 Hommage Concept. The car will also be on display at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion on Saturday and at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance on Sunday. The 328 Homage concept was created in honor of the 75th anniversary of the BMW 328.
